Steps to Protect Yourself

Whether you're a rape survivor, an Haitian earthquake survivor or whatever, here are some ideas that hopefully will help you to cope. And, if you have others as well, feel free to post comments.

Regardless of what type of trauma you're dealing with, it's not your fault.

You have no control over what others do or say (regarding your trauma).

Protection is mandatory. For you, your mutiples. And your little kid.

You need to get trauma out in the safest way you can. If you don't, it will come out in other ways.

Food, stress and hot showers can make your system very acidic. The answer then is to try and keep your balance roughly 70% alkaline/30% acidic.

Pay attention to the effects of things that you do. And not just that many are second nature. Do you have to do this? Is this really helping you? If not, change it.

Avoid all triggers as much as possible. This means lots of editing. On the other hand, what choice do you have?

More tomorrow.
